About Me

Teaching the Next Generation

Hi! My name is Matthew Kennedy, to students Mr. K is fine with me, and to colleagues Matt works just fine for me. I am a graduate from Western Michigan University where I majored in English Secondary Education. I've known I wanted to be an English teacher since I was a junior in high school and every day I walk into my classroom I'm living my life's dream. I've have been an active reader all my life and literature is one my greatest passions. When I'm not reading a book or grading papers I enjoy watching films, spending time with my family, playing video games, and doing some writing of my own. Some of my favorite books include The Great Gatsby and Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. As far as films go my favorite movies are Goodwill Hunting and Shawshank Redemption. Additionally, it is not uncommon to see me drinking a diet coke or a blue voltage mountain dew. I look forward to meeting each and everyone of my new students!
